How We Impact Our Community

Assisting Lives in Las Vegas is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that implements programs and services that enrich the lives of children and adults in need in our community. Member volunteers are dedicated to ongoing support and a long-term presence in the community through hands-on involvement and innovative philanthropic programs.

Attempting to meet previously underserved needs, Assisting Lives in Las Vegas supports many philanthropic programs that provide services to every age range in the community.

Since its founding in 1976, Assisting Lives in Las Vegas member volunteers have consistently provided quality service to the Las Vegas area. Our members contribute over 66,000 hours annually to serve at-risk children and families in our community. Click here to read more about our history.

Our Assisting Lives in Las Vegas Thrift Shop has been named Best of Las Vegas for eight years in a row, from 2017 to 2024, and is staffed and managed entirely by our member volunteers. Donations are always welcome and may be tax deductible; consult with your tax advisor.

Assisting Lives in Las Vegas has two auxiliaries: Desert Sage and Volunteens. Desert Sage Auxiliary provides evening and weekend volunteer opportunities for those who have limited daytime hours to volunteer. Our Volunteens Auxiliary offers volunteer opportunities as well as teaching leadership and fundraising skills to students in grades seven through twelve.
